Design Advisory Group Kickoffs
We will be kicking off meetings for each of the Design Advisory Groups (DAGs) this week (see list below)! These groups will consult directly with the architectural team about various aspects of the new south campus union. Don't worry if you feel behind or in the dark-- we will help you catch up on all of our progress at each meeting. Feel free to show up to any and all, and don't hesitate to bring a few friends. All meetings will be in the Project Office of Memorial Union (1st floor, across from the Rathskeller). If you have any questions, let me know.

Thanks to everyone who participated ini the campus-wide survey!
On April 8 the Design Team will receive the results of the all campus survey sent out in March to measure what students, faculty and staff would like to see in a new south campus union. Details to come.
Several sub-committees of the Design Committee have been meeting and analyzing various ideas for many key design aspects and functions. In doing so, they are reviewing examples of existing spaces in student unions and other facilities around the country as well as seeking input from campus registered student organizations and Union staff concerning needs, space and amenities. For information to get involved, contact David Christopher, student involvement coordinator, at unionbuildingproject@gmail.com.
Updates from these sub-committees are included in the Design Committee updates.
This information will form the foundation of design elements forwarded to the architects.
“The idea of shared governance – students and staff working together to address issues and solve problems involving the Wisconsin Union – is alive and well within the early stages of the building project. Students are chairing most of the sub-committees, gathering information, doing research and discussing with other students to determine how the new south campus union will function and its makeup.”
